To advance that mission, we've developed tools like Recommendation Spotlight and GovQuery, which make complex public data easier to explore, analyze, and apply to real-world decision-making.
With the launch of PIA Connect, we're taking the next step toward making these capabilities accessible wherever people work with AI.
PIA Connect allows leading AI platforms — including OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude — to securely connect to PIA's datasets and insights through our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. This means that policymakers, researchers, journalists, and developers can now tap into trusted, evidence-based government data directly from within their everyday tools and workflows.
By bridging PIA's curated data and today's most powerful AI assistants, PIA Connect makes public-interest data more usable, transparent, and actionable — supporting our broader goal of improving governance through technology and collaboration.
